Pathao receives authorization to offer payment services

Pathao, the leading provider of digital services in the country, became the first company with a clear consumer emphasis to receive a payment service provider (PSP) license from the Bangladesh Bank on Sunday.

With the license, Pathao is now free to introduce its own mobile wallet and offer its users the ease of faster and more secure cashless transactions.

Pathao, a 2015 startup that provides logistics, ride-hailing, and meal delivery services, has a sizable young user base that enables it to operate profitably in each of the three business sectors.

The biggest e-commerce logistics service provider in Bangladesh is Pathao Courier, a division of the company that provides logistics services.
