Govt to procure 1.7 cr litres soybean oil, 12.5 thousand tonnes sugar

The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) has approved the procurement of edible oil from local and foreign suppliers, as well as sugar from a local supplier on an emergency basis.

The approvals were came from a meeting with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in the chair on Wednesday.

The CCGP approved procuring 70 lakh litres of Soybean oil at Tk 183 per litre from a local supplier, as well as 1 crore 10 litres of Soybean oil at Tk 140 per litre from a US supplier for the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB).

Approval to procure 12.5 thousand tonnes of sugar at Tk 105 per kg on an emergency basis was also given at the meeting.
