BB plans to introduce digital bank: Governor

Bangladesh Governor Abdur Rouf Talukder said they are planning to introduce a digital bank in the country soon.

The BB governor said this while speaking as chief guest at the first Digital Transformation Summit-2023 at a local hotel in the city on Wednesday.

The Association of Bankers Bangladesh Limited (ABB) is hosting the two-day summit with the theme "Banking on Digital Transformation”. 

In his speech, Abdur Rouf Talukder informed that they are very close to issuing national debt cards.

He said that during the fourth industrial revolution (4IR), artificial intelligence (AI) had a profound impact on banking practices all across the world.

Therefore, he continued, bankers must get ready digitally to handle the industry's rapid shift.
