Government allows onion import from Monday

The government has given approval to import onions from Monday.

The Ministry of Agriculture, in a press release issued on Sunday, said the decision has been taken to protect the interests of the consumers and limited income people due to the abnormal increase in onion prices.

And for this, the government is lifting restrictions on onion import due to sudden abnormal price increase.

Considering the interests of the farmers, the ministry temporarily stopped the onion import.
