Cattle markets to be set up at 19 points in Dhaka

The two city corporations, on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha,  have given permission to set up temporary cattle markets at 19 places in the capital.

Of them, 17 are makeshift while two are permanent. Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) will run nine, while 10 will be operated by the Dhaka North City Corporation (DSCC), according to information from the two city corporations.

According to the corporations, the places are – open ground nearby leather technology Institute, open space adjacent to the Postagola, open space at Khilgaon-Meradia Bazar, open space at Dania College at Jatrabari, open space at Dholaikhal truck terminal, open space at Rahmatganj club at Lalbagh, open space at Amulia Model Town, North Shahjahanpur area, open space near Little Friends Club, open space near Kamalapur Biswa Road area, open place at Badda Eastern Housing area.

The locations also include – open space near Kawla Shialdanga, open space at Sector-17 of Uttara, Bhatara Saidnagar cattle market, open space at Rajdhani Housing and Basila Garden City, Gabtoli, Mirpur, open space near Eastern Housing at Mirpur section-6, open space near Kanchkura Beparypara Rahman Nagar Residential area, the open ground of Dhaka Poly Technical Institute and open place of Jamalpur Properties at Khilkhet.

The cattle markets will begin on June 25 and run for the next five days.
