Soybean oil price cut to Tk174 per litre, sugar Tk135 per kg

Sugar and edible oil prices were decreased by the refiners by 3%, or Tk 5, per kilogram.

The processors said in two different news releases today that a drop in their international rates had made it possible for them to cut the prices of the two essential commodities.

At the reduced retail price, soybean oil would now cost Tk 174 per litre, a drop of nearly 3% from Tk 179.

Every five-litre bottle of cooking oil will now cost Tk 850.
