Rifat Garments, Times Media of Ha-meem Group named as top taxpayers

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has announced the names of 141 highest tax-paying companies and individuals for the fiscal year of 2022-23 with Rifat Garments Limited and Times Media Limited of Ha-meem Group topping the list.

In the garments category, Youngone Hi-tech Sportswear Industries, Square Fashions, Titus Sportswear Industries, Universal Jeans, Nice Denim Mills and Fakir Knitwear are receiving tax cards.

Apart from Times Media Ltd, in the print and electronic media category, East West Media Group Ltd, Somoy Media Ltd and Mediastar, the parent company of the Prothom Alo, were among the top taxpayers.

A total of 141 taxpayers-76 individuals, 53 companies and 12 in other categories- won the tax card in the fiscal year 2022-23.

Kaus Miah - the owner of old Dhaka-based Hakimpuri Jarda (chewing tobacco) - has been named as the top taxpayer award.
