Economy cannot progress without inflation: Kamal

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has said the economy cannot progress without inflation. Those who don't think deeply about the economy are the ones who complain about inflation.

When asked whether inflation has gone beyond the bearable limit, the minister said, "Inflation has been under 6 per cent in 8 to 10 years in the last 15 years. There can be no better situation."

He made the remarks while talking to journalists at the ministry on Tuesday.

Replying to another question, the minister said, "The prime minister will decide who the new finance minister will be."
