Govt to procure oil, lentils worth Tk391cr for TCB

The government will procure 1.20 crore litres of rice bran oil and 20 thousand tonnes of lentils worth Tk 391.19 crore for the state-run Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB).

The decision was taken Tuesday at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP), chaired by Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali. This was the first meeting of this committee under the new parliament.

As per the committee's approval, TCB will make a direct purchase of 1.20 crore litres of rice bran oil from three local suppliers at the cost of Tk 189.60 crore.

It will also purchase 10 thousand tonnes of lentils from an Indian supplier and another 10 thousand tonnes from two local suppliers.
