Onion, sugar to be imported from India: Titu

State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu said that the price of daily commodities will be under control during the holy month of Ramadan. 

He said, “20,000 tons of onion and 50,000 tons of sugar will be imported from India. Oil and sugar are also coming from Brazil and other countries. Therefore, the price of daily commodities in the country will be under control this Ramadan.”

He made the statement in response to questions from reporters during an exchange of views with local leaders at his residence in Delduar, Tangail on Friday around 11 am. 

Deludayar Upazila Parishad Chairman Mahmudul Hasan Maruf, Upazila Awami League President Bir Muktijoddha Fazlul Haque and local leaders were present on the occasion.
