Gold price drops, effective immediately

The Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) on Saturday slashed the price of 22-carat gold to Tk1,18,757 per bhori. The previous price was Tk 1,19,638. 

The decision to reduce the price was taken at a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring as the price of pure gold has dropped in the local market. 

The price will be effective from 3:30pm on Saturday, according to a BAJUS media release. 

According to the release, the price of per bhori 21-carat gold is Tk 1,13,358, 18-carat gold is Tk 97,162, and local gold is Tk 78,215.
