Gold prices cut for consecutive eighth time

Due to another price reduction by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) on Thursday, the price of gold has decreased for the eighth time in a row. 

There was a Tk1,878 decrease in the price of 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664g).

The new price per carat of top-quality gold is Tk1,09,163, according to a statement released by BAJUS. 

It stated that the updated prices will take effect from Friday and would stay that way until further notice. 

While the price of 18-carat gold is currently Tk89,331, each bhori of 21-carat gold would cost Tk1,04,194. 

The current standard gold price is Tk 74,276.
