Chinese company to invest $109 million in BEPZA EZ

Chinese company Alpen Banyan Garments BD Co. Ltd will invest US$ 108.99 million in BEPZA Economic Zone (BEPZA EZ).

In this regard, the company signed an agreement with Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) on Tuesday, said a press release.

It would be the highest amount of proposed investment ever from a single company signed agreements to establish industries in BEPZA EZ.

Alpen Banyan Garments BD will set up a garment manufacturing factory on 90 thousand square meters of land.

Some 43 million pcs of Woven and Knit garments will be produced in the factory annually.

A total of 11,995 Bangladeshi nationals will get employment opportunities if it goes to operations.

BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, BSP, ndc, psc, was present during the deal signing.

Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA Md. Ashraful Kabir and Director of Alpen Banyan Garments BD Co. Ltd. Li, Tianning signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations at BEPZA Complex in the city.
