Nazrul Islam appointed as chairman of EXIM Bank

Md Nazrul Islam Swapan, a businessman and industrialist, has been unanimously elected as the chairman of the board of directors of EXIM Bank.

 The 174th board meeting of the Exim Bank made the decision on Friday.

Prior to this new position, Nazrul served as a member of the board of directors of the same bank.

He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social sciences from Chittagong University. 

Nazrul served 44 years in readymade garment sector. He is now the Chairman and Managing Director of Tivoli Apparels Limited and Galaxy Stitch Limited.

Since 2000, he has been recognised as a commercially important person. 

Nazrul is quite knowledgeable about the real estate and aviation sectors.
