All 18 demands of RMG workers accepted

The government has accepted all 18 demands placed by the garment workers.

A tripartite agreement in this regard was signed on Tuesday.

Labour and Employment Secretary AHM Shafiquzzaman announced the decision at a press briefing at the labour ministry in Dhaka.

In the meeting, the garment factory owners have agreed to raise the workers' attendance bonus by Tk 225.

Labour and Employment Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan said at the meeting that normal operations in the industrial zones are expected to resume on Wednesday.

At the press briefing, four advisers of the interim government, union leaders and representatives from the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association were present.

Home Ministry Adviser Jahangir Alam Chowdhury called upon the workers to return to their workplaces from Wednesday.
