Govt fixes the price of eggs

The government has fixed the prices of eggs at the farmer, wholesale, and retail levels. The new prices will come into effect from Wednesday. 

Director General of the Directorate of National Consumers' Rights Protection Mohammad Alim Akhtar Khan confirmed the matter after a meeting with poultry farmers and egg suppliers on Tuesday. 

He said the decision to sell each egg at Tk 10.91 at the farmer level, Tk 11.01 at wholesale level, and Tk 11.87 at retail level will be effective from Wednesday. Therefore, consumers can purchase each dozen of eggs for Tk 142.44.
