BGMEA board of directors dissolved, administrator appointed

The government has dissolved the current board of directors of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).

Instead, an administrator has been appointed in this apex body of the businesses. 

The government has appointed Md Anwar Hossain, vice-chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), as the administrator of the BGMEA.

On Sunday, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce (Director General of Trade Organizations) has issued an order signed by Abdur Rahim Khan.

According to the order, the appointed administrator will arrange a fair election and hand over responsibility to the elected committee within 120 (one hundred and twenty) days.
