Bangladesh receives $2.3 billion remittances in Oct

Expatriate Bangladeshis sent around $2.3 billion in remittances over the month of October in the fiscal year 2024-25.

Hosne Ara Shikha, the spokesperson and executive director of Bangladesh Bank, confirmed this information on Sunday. 

The country received  $1.97 billion in remittances in October 2023. Over one year, remittances have increased by 16.75 per cent. 

From July to October of the current fiscal year, expatriate Bangladeshis sent $8.83 billion in remittances against $6.87 billion for the same period of the previous fiscal.

Earlier in September 2024, remittances stood at $2.4 billion.
