Trying to bring relief to market: Commerce adviser

Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin said the price hike in the essential commodities market is related to supply issues. The government is working to bring relief to the market. 

He made the remarks while inaugurating the sale of potatoes at a fair price by Trading Corporation Of Bangladesh (TCB) in front of the TCB Bhaban at Karwanbazar in the capital on Wednesday morning. 

"All advisers, including the chief adviser, are sensitive to this issue. The price of some commodities is starting to go down; sugar, eggs, and potatoes will also. We have started to work with oil," the adviser said. 

After the inauguration, potatoes were sold for Tk 40 per kg with other TCB commodities.
