Food inflation drops to 12.92% in December

Food inflation in the country dropped to 12.92 per cent in December, which was 13.8 per cent in November. 

According to a Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) report, lowering of food inflation has also influenced the general inflation in the country. Inflation was 10.89 per cent in December, and 11.38 per cent in November. 

Due to the mass movement in July, the country's supply chain was disrupted, causing food inflation to jump to 14.10 per cent. It was the highest food inflation rate in 2024.
