Foreign exchange reserves surpassed the US$25.6 billion at the end of March due to an unprecedented influx of remittances this month.
The Bangladesh Bank (BB) on Sunday announced that the nation's gross reserves had increased to $25.63 billion.
The spike followed a sharp rise in remittance inflows, which hit $3.29 billion in March—the greatest amount ever received in a single month in the nation's history.
But according to the Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Manual (BPM6), which is used by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Bangladesh's net reserves are currently $20.46 billion.
