Banks to remain open on Saturday

Bangladesh Bank (BB) has instructed banks for taking appropriate measures to keep open their branches or sub-branches relating to the hajj activities on October 11 (Saturday) for hajj management.
To this end, the central bank today issued a circular, also asking banks to arrange for the acceptance of Hajj funds after the normal bank transaction hours up to October 12.
The banks were directed to continue accepting the Hajj registration funds for as long as there were depositors present to submit the money.
Banks were also required to ensure adequate security at their concerned branches during this time.
The central bank issued the instruction under section 45 of the Banking Companies Act, 1991.
