Point to point inflation eases to 8.17% in October

The country's general point-to-point inflation rate eased slightly to 8.17 percent in October, 2025 down from 8.36 percent in September, according to the latest data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).

This slight decline in inflation was mainly attributed to a downtrend in food inflation.

The BBS data showed that point-to-point food inflation eased slightly to 7.08 percent in October, 2025 compared to 7.64 percent in September, 2025. On the other hand, the non-food inflation rate, however, increased to 9.13 percent in October, 2025 up from 8.98 percent in the previous month.

Meanwhile, inflation in the rural areas has declined while it recorded slight increase in the urban areas last month.
