Onion import permission to be further enhanced

The government will issue 575 import permissions (IPs) each day on December 15 and 16 to help keep the onion market at a tolerable level.

Each IP will allow importing a maximum of 30 tonnes of onions.

The subject of the application will remain the same as before. Importers who applied for import permission from August 1, 2025, will be eligible to submit their applications again during the next two days.

An importer will be allowed to apply only once.
