Gold prices fall for second consecutive day

Gold prices have dropped for two consecutive days in the domestic market. Gold prices have fallen for the second time in a single day. This time, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has fixed a new price by reducing the price of a 22-carat gold bhori by Tk 4,374. 

According to the new price, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams) in the domestic market will now be Tk 238,121.

BAJUS announced this information in a notification at 10 am on Saturday. 

The notification said that the price of acid gold (pure gold) has decreased in the local market. As a result, the new price of gold has been set after considering the overall situation.

According to the new prices, the price of a 21-carat bhori has been fixed at Tk 227,331, an 18-carat bhori at Tk 194,847, and the price of traditional gold per bhori at Tk 158,689.

Earlier, BAJUS had adjusted the price of gold in the domestic market on Friday morning. At that time, BAJUS had set the price of a 22-carat bhori at Tk 242,495.

So far this year, the price of gold has been changed 65 times in the domestic market. Out of these changes, the price has been increased 35 times and decreased 30 times. Earlier, in 2025, this fluctuation in the price of gold was seen 93 times, out of which the price of gold increased 64 times and decreased 29 times.

Along with gold, the price of silver has also been reduced in the domestic market this time. The price of a 22-carat silver bhori has been reduced by Tk 117 to Tk 5,657 depending on quality. In addition, the new price of a 21-carat silver bhori has been set at Tk 5,365, an 18-carat bhori at Tk 4,607, and the new price of traditional silver at Tk 3,441 per bhori.
