Defaulted loans increase by Tk31,487 crore in three months

Non-performing loans in the country's banking sector have increased by Tk31,487 crore in the last three months. 

This information was revealed in the updated report of Bangladesh Bank on Tuesday.

According to the report, at the end of last December, defaulted loans in the banking sector were Tk5,57,216 crore, which is 30.60 percent of the loans disbursed during that period. 

At the end of March this year, defaulted loans increased to Tk5,88,704 crore, which is 32.26 percent of the total loans. 

Currently, the total loan balance in the banking sector is Tk1,824,668 crore.
