Gold prices fall further in the domestic market

Gold prices have fallen further in the domestic market, said the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS). 

According to the new decision, the price of 22-carat gold has decreased by Tk3,324 per bhori. 

BAJUS announced the new price in a notification on Tuesday morning. The new price has come into effect from 10 am, it said.

BAJUS said that the price of pure gold has decreased. The price has been adjusted after reviewing the overall situation. 

According to the new price, the price of 22-carat gold has been fixed at Tk221,966 per bhori. In addition, the price of 21-carat gold has been fixed at Tk211,993 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk182,075 per bhori and the price of traditional gold has been fixed at Tk148,774 per bhori.

The BAJUS notification also said that the new price has been fixed including VAT. However, wages will be added separately depending on the design and craftsmanship of the jewellery. A decision will be made later on the VAT on silver jewellery.

The price of a 22-carat bhori silver has been fixed at Tk4,491. In addition, the price of a 21-carat bhori silver has been fixed at Tk4,257, an 18-carat bhori silver at Tk3,674 and a traditional bhori silver has been fixed at Tk 2,741.
