Sarwar Hossain made new deputy governor

Md Sarwar Hossain, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, has been appointed as the new Deputy Governor of the central bank. 

A notification issued by the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday confirmed the appointment.

According to the notification, Md Sarwar Hossain has been appointed under Article 10(4) of the Bangladesh Bank Order, 1972, on the condition of voluntary retirement from his current post and suspension of post-retirement leave. 

He will serve on a contractual basis for the next three years from the date of joining, it said.
