Reforms to be made as per priorities of government: Amir Khosru

Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said that the economic reform programme will be taken forward step by step based on the priorities and needs of the elected government. 

He told reporters after a meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation at the Finance Ministry’s conference room on Thursday.

The finance minister said that the basis of a specific programme has already been discussed. The basis of this programme will be based on the policy issues that have been highlighted earlier.

He said that the reform work will be carried out while maintaining respect for the elected government. At the same time, changes will be made step by step as needed.

He further said that whatever is needed will be done when it is needed. Many changes have already been made. The remaining changes will also be implemented in phases according to time and need. 

Economic reforms will not be implemented all at once but in accordance with the situation, priorities, and policies of the elected government in phases, he continued.
