Nepal gets permission to use Saidpur airport

Nepal has been given permission to use Saidpur Airport to promote trade and commerce, said Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen.

He told reporters after a bilateral meeting with Nepalese Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali at the state guest house in Meghna on Tuesday afternoon.

Momen said, "We have said yes to Nepal about the use of Saidpur Airport. Now a technical team will be formed to handle the flight to this port."

Pradeep Kumar Gyawali expressed the interest in using the Saidpur Airport for boosting connectivity, trade and tourism between Bangladesh and Nepal while paying a courtesy call on Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi on Monday at the Commerce Ministry in the city.

During the meeting, they discussed various bilateral issues, including expansion of trade and investment between the two countries and regional connectivity.
