Shopping malls, shops to remain open till 9 pm

From now on, shopping malls, markets and shops will be kept open in the capital Dhaka until 9 pm, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Shafiqul Islam on Sunday.

The Cabinet Division had earlier said that shops, markets and shopping malls could be kept open from 10 am to 5 pm. However, the traders requested to keep the shops open for more time.

Meanwhile, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police came up with this update. However, in this case, the DMP has said that the health rules must be strictly followed.

Earlier, small and medium traders had been demanding the opening of shops and malls amid concerns over Eid-centric business due to ongoing restrictions over the rise of coronavirus infections and deaths.
