Bangladesh's per capita income reaches $2,825: BBS

According to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics' latest tentative estimate, Bangladesh's per capita income will rise by $234 in the next two months (BBS).

In this fiscal year, the per capita income is expected to be $2,825, while the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to expand by 7.5 percent.

At a news conference on Tuesday, the BBS published its preliminary assessment.

After examining the data collected over the first 6-7 months of fiscal year 2021-22, new estimates were developed.

The Agriculture sector is expected to gain 2.2 percent, the Industry sector 12.31 percent, and the Service sector 8.72 percent, according to the BBS provisional assessment.

Bangladesh's GDP climbed by 6.94 percent in the preceding fiscal year, while its per capita income increased to $2,591.
