Insurance Regulatory Authority Chairman resigns

Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) Chairman M Mosharraf Hossain has resigned from his post on Tuesday.

M Mosharraf Hossain became a member of IDRA in April 2018. He later became the chairman of the company in September 2020.

There is a case against M Mosharraf Hossain.

He is also accused of corruption, soliciting bribes from various organizations, and illegally selling shares of insurance companies.

An application was recently filed with the High Court seeking confiscation of his bank account and ban on his travel abroad. 

The report submitted to the court by the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) alleges corruption of Tk 41 crore against M Mosharraf Hossain.
