Soybean prices may fall in two days: Commerce Secretary

Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh has hinted that the price of edible oil may also come down in the country's market.

He said that as the price of edible oil has started falling in the international market, there is a possibility of lower price in the domestic market as well.

He told reporters at the secretariat on Sunday, the first working day of the week.

He made the remarks at a press conference organized by the ministry to brief on the twelfth ministerial conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

At the time, the Commerce Secretary said, "Good news may come in the next two days about the price of edible oil."

"Hopefully, the price of edible oil will come down. The accounts are being settled. Prices will be determined in consultation with edible oil refineries and marketing companies."
