After 13 months, the core index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has plummeted below the 6,000 level due to anxiety regarding the nation's socioeconomic status.
The key index on the top market fell 64 points or 1.06 percent in the opening hour of trading on Monday, closing at 5,987, its lowest level since June 7, 2021.
On Monday, panic-driven selling pressure also continued to wreak havoc on The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE).
Few investors poured money into the stocks of some insurance companies during the first hour of trading at the DSE, which led to a minor price increase.
Only 32 businesses' shares rose in value in Dhaka up until the report's posting at 11:16 a.m., while 320 saw declines.
