8 killed on Bangabandhu Bridge accidents

At least eight people have been killed including the land minister Shamsur Rahman Dilu's son Sharif Rana (35) and more than fifty others got injured in separate accidents happened on the Bangabandhu Bridge.

 

Around 7:30 am and about 9:30 am on Saturday, in two separate accidents, at least 24 different kinds of vehicles collided with each other. It caused heavy casualty and damage instantly. 

 

There are five members from the police and the fire brigade among the injured.

 

Though, the police and the civil surgeon told of eight dead bodies, Bangladesh Bridge Authority officials said they counted 9.

 

Sirajgonj police super Md. Miraj Uddin Ahmed confirmed the death and said the land minister's son was also among the dead. He was going to Dhaka by a micro-bus.
