3 killed as 2 buses collide in Chuadanga

Three people were killed and 12 others injured in a collision between two buses at Damurhuda upazila in Chuadanga on Saturday morning.

The drivers of the both buses were among the dead while the road accident took place on Damurhuda-Darshana road in Joyrampur Chayer Dokan more area under the upazila around 8:00am.

Police said a Darshana bound Purbasha Paribahan collided head-on with and Chuadanga bound Deluxe Paribahan, leaving the two drivers dead on the spot. Later, another person died at Chuadanga sadar hospital.

The locals rescued the injured and rushed to Chuadanga sadar hospital and Damurhuda upazila health complex. Conditions of several were said to be critical.

The deceased were identified as Dulal, 37, driver of Purbasha bus, Shanti Mia, 35, driver of Deluxe bus, and a passenger Arosh Ali, 22.
