Sylhet ex-Shibir president Shipar held

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Shahriar Alam Shipar, former president of the Sylhet city unit of Islami Chhatra Shibir, from TB Gate area in the city on Friday afternoon.
Confirming the arrest, Major Humayun Kabir of Rab-9 said tipped off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid on a house in the area and arrested Shipar at about 1:00 pm, reports UNB.
The Shibir leader was wanted in 30 cases, including for attack on police and subversive activities, the major added.
The major also said of the cases, court issued arrest warrants in 18 against him.
