Beaten up ‘by husband’, housewife dies at MMCH

A housewife, who received severe injuries after being beaten up allegedly by her husband, died at Mymensingh Medical College (MMCH) on Wednesday morning.
Locals said Jahera Khatun, a resident of Sawarmshia village in Atpara upazila, often had quarrel with her husband Khokan Miah over different family issues, reports UNB.
Over such an issue, Khokan allegedly beat up Jahera on January 28, leaving her severely injured.
She was rushed to Netrakona Modern Sadar Hospital first and later shifted to MMCH where she succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday.
Victim’s brother Shamim filed a case with Atpara Police Station in connection with the incident, said Officer-in-charge of the police station M Faruk Ahmed.
The body was sent to hospital for an autopsy, the OC added.
