3 DB men withdrawn over assaulting nurse in Gazipur

Three members of Detective Branch (DB) of police have been withdrawn on charge of assaulting a nurse at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur.

The three DB men have been attached with the district police line as per the order of Gazipur’s Superintendent of Police Mohammad Harun-or-Rashid, said Md Amir Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of district’s detectives.

Senior Nurse Abul Fazal, general secretary of Gazipur Nurses Association, said a team of DB came to the hospital for treatment of two arrested accused on Monday night around 10:00pm.

Later the DB team also tried to pick up a local man into their vehicle.

As Fazal asked the reason behind the arrest of the man, the DB team beat and assaulted him also and tried to pick him up forcibly into their vehicle.

The hospital staff then gathered and protested the incident.
