Freedom fighter shot dead by robbers in Gazipur

A freedom fighter was shot to death and three others injured by robbers at Kathora area in Gazipur early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Paresh Gosh, 65, a resident of the area.

Quoting witnesses, Parimal Biswas, sub-inspector of Joydebpur Police Station, said a gang of robbers, numbering 8-10, swopped on the house of Paresh and his brother Naresh in the area around 2am.

The robbers looted valuables and cash taka from the house, UNB reported.

As Paresh identified a member of the robber gang, they opened fire at him, leaving him dead on the spot.

The robbers also stabbed Naresh and his two sons Bidhan and Mrinal as they tried to resist the robbers.

The injured were admitted to Gazipur Shahid Tajuddin Medical College Hospital.
