Patients suffer as Rangpur medical interns on strike

Interns at Rangpur Medical College Hospital continued their strike for the second consecutive day on Saturday protesting the attack on one of their fellows by some outsiders.

They went an indefinite strike on Friday afternoon protesting the attack while the strike left scores of patients to suffer without treatment.

After staging demonstration this morning, the protesters submitted a memorandum to the hospital’s director ASM Barkatullah for ensuring security on the campus.


They have observed a work abstention as one of their fellows Suman Mia was came under attack and mugged in Shaheed Minar area of the hospital Thursday night.

The intern doctors’ parishad decided to enforce the indefinite strike Friday afternoon as the authorities did not assure of taking any measures to avert such incidents.
