26 fallen sick after tea mixed mistakenly with pesticide

Twenty-six people fell sick reportedly after taking tea at a function to see prospective bride at Balapara in Debiganj upazila of Panchagarh district  on Thursday night, reports the UNB.

 

Rahimul Islam Bulbul, chairman of Sonahar union in the upazila, said Surendra Nath Roy of Nilphamari district along with his son Apon Roy and 10 other relatives came to the house of Soshodhar Roy at Balapara village to see a prospective bride for his son around 8 pm.

 

At the function, they were served tea mixed mistakenly with pesticide along with some snacks.

 

After taking the tea, 26 people from the two sides fell sick and they were rushed to Debiganj Upazila Health Complex.

 

Of them, six were shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital following deterioration of their condition.
