2 killed in rice mill boiler blast in Raiganj

Two laborers were killed and five others injured as a boiler blasted at a rice mill at Rameshwargati village in Raiganj upazila of Sirajgonj district on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Nasiruddin, 25, son of Altaf Ali, and Idris Ali, 24, son of Nasim Sheikh, residents of the village.
Officer-in-charge of Raiganj Police Station Rashedul Islam said Nasiruddin and Idris, along with five others, were boiling rice at a rice mill at the village in the morning, reports the UNB.
At one stage, the boiler of the rice mill went off with a big bang around 7 am, leaving Nasiruddin and Idris dead on the spot and five others injured.
The injured were whisked off to Shaheed M Mansur Ali Medical College Hospital, the OC added.
