Ctg BCL leader held with firearm

A Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), ruling Awami League’s student wing, leader of Chittagong city unit has been detained with firearm during union parishad voting in Hathazari upazila.

The detainee Nurul Azim Rony is the General Secretary of the port city’s BCL. He was held on Saturday at Mirzapur union for carrying firearm near voting centres.

A pistol and 15 rounds of bullets were recovered from Rony’s possession, police said.

Confirming the matter, Hathazari Police Station duty officer Helal told Samakal that preparation to file a case in this connection in underway.
