UP chairman-elect attacked in Jessore

A newly elected UP chairman was seriously injured as a gang of miscreants attacked him at Alamdangapar in Jhikargachha upazila of Jessore on Monday night, reports the UNB.
He was admitted to Satkhira Sadar Hospital.
Victim Nesar Uddin was recently elected chairman of Shangkarpur union parishad of the upazila.
Witnesses said a group of terrorists, led by one Ariful, intercepted Nesar’s motorbike riding which he and two others were going to Ulacol village from Naira village at night.
At one stage, the attackers hacked Nesar indiscriminately with sharp weapons, leaving him critically injured.
However, the criminals managed to flee the scene.
