Police informant hacked dead in Tongi

A police informant was hacked to death in T&T area of Tongi in Gazipur on Tuesday morning, reports the UNB.
The deceased was identified as Kutub Uddin,32, son of Habibur Rahman hailing from Nowabganj and used to live in a rented house of Majid Miah in the area.
Abul Khaer, sub-inspector of Tongi Police Station, said some miscreants called Kutub out of the house early in the morning.
Later locals noticed him lying with critical stab injuries, with the leg tendons severed, near T&T Bazar area and got him admitted him to Shaheed Taj Uddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital.
As his condition deteriorated, he was rushed to Pongu Hospital in the capital where he succumbed to his injuries.
He was a source of police, added the SI.
