15-km tailback on Dhaka-Tangail highway

A 15-kilometer long tailback was created on the Dhaka-Tangail highway due to slow vehicular movement resulting from a truck getting struck in a rain drenched hole at Kadda Bazar in the city on Thursday morning, reports the UNB.

 

Officer-in-charge of Konabari Highway Police Station M Daud said vehicular movement was disrupted from Kadda in the city to Chandra in Kaliakair upazila as the truck got struck in a hole filled with rainwater.

 

As a result, hundreds of vehicles lay stranded on the highway, causing immense suffering to the passengers.

 

However, traffic police were trying to ease the congestion, the OC added.
