3 supporters of independent candidate hurt in attack in Bogra

Three supporters of an independent candidate of Fapor union in sadar upazila were injured in an attack by the ruling party men over UP election, billed for June 4, on Friday, reports the UNB.

 

Witnesses said the supporters of Awami League-backed chairman candidate Abdur Razzak swooped on the supporters of independent chairman candidate Mahrram Ali while returning from their candidate’s home at Koichar in the afternoon.

 

Later they stabbed and beat up the supporters of Mahrram Ali, leaving three of them injured.

 

They also vandalized three motorbikes and set a motorcycle on fire.

 

The injured Ezaz Ahmed Aslam, Sahel and Abdul Baki were rushed to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital at night.

 

Earlier, the High Court declared the nomination paper of the Independent chairman candidate Mahrram Ali valid following a writ petition filed by him.

 

Following the incident, the supporters of Mahrram Ali brought out a rally with election symbol ‘motorcycle’ on Friday.
