Voting at Laxmipur centre suspended

Voting at a polling center in Charkadira union of Kamalganj upazila was suspended as a clash ensued between supporters of two member candidates on Saturday morning, reports the UNB.

 

Police sources said an altercation ensured between supporters of two member candidates while one of them tried to take control of Purba Charkadira Government Primary School polling station in the morning.

 

At one stage, supporters of both the groups attacked each other.

 

Police fired some bullets to bring the situation under control.

 

Later, the returning officer suspended voting at the polling center.
